The subject Swimming Didactics expands the theoretical knowledge, practical skills and didactic competences of students in the creation of swimming lessons and movement programs in water. Movement programs in water are focused on various forms of swimming lessons, movement training in water and health swimming, especially in the context of developing swimming fitness and compensating for movement hypokinesia. The structuring of the curriculum, visual demonstrations and practical exercises prepare students to apply the acquired knowledge, skills and didactic competences to teaching pupils in school physical education. The subject also emphasizes the safety of activities in water by deepening knowledge and skills in the field of water rescue.

The aim of the course is to prepare students practically and theoretically for the organization, professional guidance and application of modern didactic procedures within the framework of basic and advanced swimming lessons carried out in the context of school physical education and safe movement of pupils in the aquatic environment. The graduate of the course will be able to demonstrate swimming skills, can choose adequate didactic steps for training these skills by pupils, identify errors and correct them. At the level of advanced swimming lessons, the student will have a wide range of activities from various areas of swimming activities that use swimming locomotion, support swimming fitness and expand the swimming competences of pupils. In the case of integration of pupils with specific needs, the graduate will be able to apply appropriate modifications according to individual needs. Conditions for obtaining credit: 1) Obtaining at least 6 points from the assessment of swimming skills and performance within the practical credit requirement. It is necessary to obtain at least 1 point in each prescribed part. The technique of execution is evaluated 2 points, performance 3 points (maximum 13 points): Women Men 300m Skills Test 8:35/ 8:25/ 8:15 7:35/ 7:25/ 7:15 2) Continuous assessment of mastery of the curriculum, which is demonstrated within the framework of practical exercises. The student must know the theory of basic swimming skills, swimming techniques, turns and starting jumps and be familiar with the didactic procedures for training these skills and their modifications for the purposes of other physical activities in the water. Repeated failure to meet this requirement is considered failure to meet the credit requirements. 3) Organization and implementation of swimming lessons in a group in the amount of at least 6 lessons designated for swimming as part of school physical education. 4) Preparation of an implementation plan for swimming lessons for school physical education with determination of the age group of students and levels of swimming skill prerequisites - maximum 10 points - this is part of the student's portfolio. 5) Attendance: each practical lesson - 2 points - a minimum of 44 points must be obtained (maximum 52 points); attendance at seminars - 2 points - a minimum of 8 points must be obtained (maximum 10 points). After completing the course, the student will: Masters the technique and didactics of basic swimming skills, swimming strokes, turns and starting jump. Applies appropriate didactic steps for training these skills. Analyzes and corrects the most common errors in the technique of swimming strokes. Is able to prepare, organize and implement swimming lessons within school physical education. Master skills in the field of saving drowning people. Is familiar with the possibilities of loading in water and can create a simple loading motif to support the physical fitness of students. Has and can apply various areas of physical activities in water as a supplementary curriculum within advanced swimming lessons. When integrating students with specific needs and if necessary, is able to apply appropriate modifications of activities in water during swimming lessons for students.
