This course will provide application for the development of skills necessary to be an effective and efficient leader regarding communication, motivation and corporate decision making. The role of human resources and leadership theory in an atmosphere of complexity and multi-culturalism will be explored. Current issues and challenges in sport from a leadership and managerial perspective will be discussed.

The aim of the English taught subject is to achieve knowledge that enables understanding the principles of leadership, understanding the principles of successful management of a sports organization and last but not least of personal development. The student should acquire the understanding and skills that assist in leading and engaging people to achieve shared visions and goals. After completing the subject, the student will therefore acquire knowledge enabling:
Also, after graduating from the subject Leadership in Sport Organization, the student is able to distinguish between management and leadership and to orient himself in individual types of leadership, including his own opinions on their benefits and negatives depending on the specific environment and operating conditions. Becoming a leader presupposes the ability to show others the way, to inspire and motivate them with positive stimuli and their own example to better results and to contribute to their own personal and professional development and maturation. It is important for leadership that it is realized non-violently and in the form of voluntary following. It is also important for the student to learn ethical principles, loyalty and fair dealing, which is necessary for a quality leader who also aspires to become a moral authority.
