The aim of the course is to present basic concepts of philosophy, focussing esp. on selected (kin)anthropological ideas (ideas relevant to understanding of sport).

Objectives of the course: presentation of basic principles of defining terms and errors in definitions; comprehensive reflection on the essence of sport and its basic principles, aims and values; discussing the fundamental issues surrounding the categorization of sports and athletes and being aware of their implications; presentation of selected existential themes in sports; presentation of basic philosophers and their ideas relevant to the field of kinanthropology; familiarization with basic problems in research ethics. The basic learning outcomes are: - students orient themselves in the problem of defining concepts; - students can identify basic errors in definitions; - students have a critical view of the essence of sport and its values; - students can express themselves more comprehensively about the essence of sport (especially about its rules and values); - students can formulate current problems in areas related to the rules and values of sport; - students have a deeper understanding of the position of athletes within sports, including the existential dimension; - students can differentiate between different concepts of human corporeality; - students know basic philosophers and their ideas relevant to the field of kinanthropology; - students understand basic issues within research ethics.
