Annotation -
The subject, following on the basic biomechanical knowledge from previous years, focuses both on the force-deformation response of human tissues and organs and on the possibilities of its replacement.

Aim of the course -

The subject focuses both on the force-deformation response of passive tissues (ligament, bone tissue, cartilage, intervertebral discs, etc.) and on the specific behavior of active tissues (nervous tissue, muscle tissue).

Student skills and competencies:

· The student will describe the structures of the locomotor system

· Categorizes the rheological behavior of passive structures

· Distinguishes and compares the behavior of individual tissue structures (bones, ligaments, cartilage, intervertebral disc, etc.)

· He is able to explain the principles of the function of the active nerve-muscle-tendon complex

· Distinguishes and compares the behavior of various tissues of the locomotor system and non-biological materials used in the field of orthotics-prosthetics.
