The course deals with the didactics of non-linguistic disciplines with a balanced focus on the didactics of reality and literature. It represents the superstructure of language didactics, it perceives language as a representative of culture in the broader and narrower sense of the word. The aim of the course is to introduce students to the issues of teaching the realities of German-speaking countries and German-written literature. The goal is the acquisition of basic methodological procedures suitable for mediating and consolidating knowledge from the field of realities and linguistic realities so that students can implement the requirement of forming sociocultural and intercultural competence in practice. Achieving these competencies is also the goal of the literary didactic part of the course, which also strives to create a qualitatively new attitude in the target and own literature. The aim is to present literature as one of the sources of knowledge, pointing out the importance of semiotics. The content of the course includes the following topics: A) The concept of reality and different approaches to the concept of this field. History of realities in foreign language teaching. The role of reality in the contemporary teaching of foreign languages - eg the issue of stereotypes and prejudices. Analysis of textbook sets from the point of view of realities - sets of criteria. Formation of sociocultural and intercultural competence through activity-oriented teaching. The use of ICT in the teaching of realism. B) Close cross-subject relationship between reality and literature. C) Literary education as part of teaching a foreign language. Theory of literature and "literary history" in foreign language teaching. The issue of the canon of texts. Specific features of a literary text in relation to language and culture. Work with a literary text. "Classical analysis of the text" versus the activity-oriented character of working with the text. Working with a literary text in regular teaching units versus literary projects. Peculiarities of working with lyric, epic and drama. Literary education and drama pedagogy. Working with film. Use of other arts when working with literature.
