Annotation -
Students will be introduced to the principles of teaching observation and reflection as a means of professional development. On the basis of these principles, selected aspects of English language teaching in primary and secondary schools will be observed and reflected upon, both using video recordings (parts) of lessons in seminars (if needed) and mainly or completely in the field through visits to primary and secondary schools. Students will create their own professional portfolio.

Aim of the course -

The general aim of the course is to develop students' ability to reflect on the teaching of English as a foreign language, both partly their own and especially the teaching of others, i.e. mentor teachers and possibly other students. This subject specific observation practice helps students to gain a deeper understanding of the processes of teaching and learning English at different school levels and enables them to carry out their first teaching performance, alone, as assistants or in tandem.
