Annotation -
The main aim of this course is familiarising students with the elementary principles of sociolinguistics, social varieties and regional dialectology. The focus is also on factors which shape language as a social phenomenon (e.g. social class, age, gender, ethnicity) and aspects of social structure which influence linguistic choice at different planes (phonological, morpho-syntactic, lexial).

Descriptors

Distance learning will be taking place online, essentially in the form of interactive communication and via seminars and consultations in Google Classroom and Zoom . Study materials will be provided electronically via the aforementioned channels. E-mail communication will also be used in support of the previously mentioned forms.
