Annotation -

The course develops the theory covered in the course Introduction to didactics. At this stage, the course is a part of an integrated block Methodology I and Observation practice, or possibly pedagogical-psychological practice. Observation practice focuses on observing and subsequent reflection of selected aspects of English language teaching, both using video recorded lessons and actual visits to lower and upper secondary schools. The level of language proficiency (C2 level) and the ability to formulate ideas properly and accurately are ALWAYS subject to assessment and evaluation. Deficiencies in students' oral and written production are penalised. Papers with serious systemic errors may be disqualified.

Aim of the course -

The aim of the course is to:

- apply the theory to observation of video recording of authentic language teaching in a classroom

- develop students' observation skills

- develop student's aims setting and lesson planning skills.

- develp student's observation, reflection and evaluation skills

- learn develop and apply observation sheets to target a specific aspect of English teaching methodology.

Passing a written test based on the assigned readings, seminar work and practical application of the theory (cut-off score: 70%).
