Annotation -
Communication and emotions are an inseparable part of everyday life – in the family, at the workplace, and at school. The course introduces students to the theoretical foundations of Nonviolent Communication (NVC), which is based on understanding human feelings and needs, and shows how these principles can be used to cultivate clearer, more respectful, and more considerate expression. The course also provides space for practicing challenging communication situations, working with one’s own emotions as well as the emotions of others, and offers concrete ways to consciously improve communication. Within the course, students become familiar with the basic pillars of NVC and with a comprehensive model that supports its understanding and practical application. They will deepen their understanding of the difference between a human need and the strategy used to meet it, which represents a key moment for improving communication. Through practicing NVC principles using their own life and pedagogical situations, students will develop the skills needed for the safe and effective integration of nonviolent communication into their teaching practice.
