Observational practice complements the course of mathematics education II and teaching practice at the lower secondary school. The students visit the school where they will be later teaching and continue to do so after the teaching practice. They observe teaching of lessons in classes which they will be teaching. They take notes about their observations. The goal is to acquaint themselves with the school and the class, with the teacher and his/her teaching style etc.

Náslechová praxe doplňuje kurz didaktika matematiky 2 a pedagogická praxe na základní škole. V jejím rámci student dochází do školy, kde bude konat praxi, již od začátku semestru a pokračuje v docházce i po skončení praxe. Při pobytu na škole koná náslechy v hodinách matematiky, převážně ve třídách, kde bude (či byl) na oborové souvislé praxi. O násleších si vede písemný záznam.
Cílem je seznámení se s prostředím školy a třídy, s třídním kolektivem i stylem výuky, na který je třída od svého učitele zvyklá.
