The course introduces the student to the field of research in art education. It deepens students' knowledge in the field of the methodological and epistemological context of research in the field of art education, art education and reflected art. They will present the nature of basic approaches to research in pedagogy and their theoretical background, especially the currently used models of qualitative research in the field. Students will get acquainted with the important terminology of pedagogical research, the principles of research design, focus on the principles of research question formulation, selection of methodological frameworks and methodologies, data collection, analysis and interpretation, and repeat important principles of working with literature. They will learn to choose a suitable research design for the diploma thesis genre and to plan research steps. Research in art education and its form. Research design and its planning. Methodology, methods and their selection. Data analysis and interpretation.
