Preparing a choirmaster for the specific instrumental skills needed to play choral scores, such as reading multiple scores at once, octave transposition of tenor parts, etc. The choice of compositions depends on the student's degree of technical maturity, taking into account the scores for different choirs (children and women, male, mixed) and different styles. We do not play scores as technical exercises, but we strive to express and imagine the composition as a whole in terms of phrasing, dynamics, creating a gradation arc with a dynamic peak, etc. Some scores can also be played by heart, transposition, or even from a sheet.

Cílem předmětu je vybavit studenta sbormistrovství specifickými instrumentálními dovednosti potřebnými pro hru sborovým partitur, které jsou odlišné od hry klavírní literatury (např. čtení více notových osnov najednou, oktávová transpozice tenorových partů apod.). Výběr skladeb se řídí stupněm obtížnosti s přihlédnutím k technické vyspělosti studenta od jednodušších ke složitějším, se zřetelem na partitury pro různé typy sborů (dětské a ženské, mužské, smíšené) a různých stylových období. Partitury hrajeme nikoli jako technická cvičení, ale usilujeme o výraz a představu skladby jako celku z hlediska frázování, dynamiky, vytváření gradačního oblouku s dynamickým vrcholem apod. Některé partitury je možné hrát také zpaměti, v transpozici, nebo i z listu.
