The aim of the subject is to introduce basic concepts, knowledge and contexts concerning the probability calculus and to expand the secondary school concept of statistics with basic statistical tests and to introduce the principle of hypothesis testing.

Requirements to the exam -

The written part of the exam tests the ability to calculate (3 examples – probability, random variable, statistical methods), a minimum of 50% success rate is required, here it will be allowed and appropriate to use calculators, statistical books and created lists of formulas. The theoretical part, based on an interview, will test the understanding of basic concepts and context from probability and statistics.

Random variables, discrete and continuous, distribution functions, independence of random variables

Distribution of random variables – alternative, geometric, binomial, Poisson, exponential
