Annotation -
The subject introduces students into the basic findings of general and developmental psychology that are useful for eduction. The goal of the course is to provide students with basic knowledge in the field and develop their ability to connect the knowledge with educational practice.

Předmět má 5 kreditů dle ECTS, celková časová zátěž studenta odpovídá 150 hodinám. Doba očekávané přípravy na 1 hodinu přednášky 20 minut, samostudium literatury (za celý semestr) 30 hodin, práce se studijními materiály (za celý semestr) 10 hodin, plnění průběžných úkolů (za celý semestr) 12 hodin. Seminární práce 12 hodin, příprava na zkoušku a zkouška 12 hodin.

Requirements to the exam -

A minimum of 62 points is required to pass the course. A maximum of 52 points can be obtained for the submission of the seminar paper (assessed with full points if submitted on time and in accordance with the assignment) and 48 points can be obtained for the final test, which will be held on the Moodle platform and will need to be registered in advance in SIS (one regular and two makeup dates). The sum of the points obtained for the seminar paper and the test will be converted into a final grade as follows: 62 - 74 points = grade 3; 75 - 87 points = grade 2; 88 - 100 points = grade 1.

Learning outcomes -

The student is able to:
- describe the main cognitive processes and their influence on learning and behavior,
- explain basic motivational processes and their role in shaping behavior and school achievement,
- distinguish key psychological personality traits and their manifestations in individual differences,
- characterise psychological development in early childhood and preschool and apply this knowledge to the educational process,
- describe key developmental changes in middle childhood and give examples of their typical manifestations,
- analyses development in adolescence and its impact on self-concept, emotions and interpersonal relationships.
