Annotation -
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the basic theories of media communication, media competencies, the concept of media literacy, the current situation and the use of media in the teaching process, to characterize individual media competencies and to lead to critical reflection of media content. 1. History of media education and its concept. 2. Anchoring media education in legislative documents in the Czech Republic. 3. Basic concept and justification of the need for media education in the present. 4. Basic media theory. 5. Media research in the past and present. 6. Media literacy and civil society. 7. Competences in the field of media education. 8. Positives and negatives of media influence. 9. Media and virtual reality. 10. Analysis of media products

Aim of the course -

The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the basics of mass media communication, its differences from face-to-face communication, understanding the mechanisms of the media environment and the ability to analyze individual media products. To get acquainted with the basics of media research and its implementation.

The course has 5 credits according to ECTS, the total workload of the student corresponds to 150 hours. The expected preparation time for 1 hour is 25 minutes, self-study of literature (for the whole semester) 20 hours, work with study materials (for the whole semester) 10 hours, completion of mid-term tasks (for the whole semester) 25 hours. Seminar paper 12 hours, preparation for kz 6 hours.
