Course unit the subject acquaints students with the basic concepts in liturgy and frequently used liturgical texts. It points to the appropriateness and inspiration of connecting the choir's concert programs with the liturgical year. It ensures the orientation of the choirmaster in the Catholic liturgy and introduces the criteria of suitable selection of compositions for her accompaniment.

Explain the relationship between sacred and liturgical music.
Give examples of specific compositions generally sacred and liturgical.
Describe the course of the liturgical year.
Relate specific liturgical texts to each liturgical season.
