The course focuses on the use of drama techniques in foreign language teaching. The students will develop awareness of the diverse learning opportunities that performative teaching may offer to their future students. They will gain theoretical knowledge as well as direct experience with dramatic playing.
Themes:
1. Drama and theatre in language teaching: historical development and current state
2. Using techniques from improvisation theatre to help students develop their speaking skills
3. Using pre-scripted dialogues in the English classroom
4. Staging a play. Developing a script.
5. Basic acting and directing skills.
6. Teacher in role.
