Aim of the course
  • Students will understand the principles and applications of physical exercises in a natural environment, mainly through games and interaction with the surroundings.
  • Students will acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills in organizing, methodology, and leading physical activities in nature, with an emphasis on cognitive, emotional, and social development.
  • Students will learn to effectively prepare, conduct, and evaluate physical education games and exercises in a natural environment with a strong focus on safety and injury prevention.

Syllabus

Principals of the stay and movement outdoors. The importance of exercises and games outdoors. Using of terain and natural bariers. Safety rules and prevention of injuries. Requisites for games and exercises outdoors. "Gym in the countryside". Classifications of games and exercises outdoors. Content and forms of exercise units. Supply of exercises and games. Methodics of teaching, work with individuals. Exercises in various environment. Motor games, skills. Exercises with tools and apparatus. Natural exercises and healt oriented exercises. Remedial methods and exercises and alternative forms of therapeutic exercises.

Learning outcomes
  • Students will recognize and explain the classification of games and exercises suitable for the natural environment and their application in physical education.
  • Students will describe and apply the principles of staying and moving in nature, including basic safety rules and injury prevention.
  • Students will identify and analyze suitable terrain and natural obstacles for implementing movement activities and games.
  • Students will master the principles of using equipment and natural elements in organizing games and physical exercises.
  • Students will design and prepare the content and structure of a physical education session focused on outdoor exercises.
  • Students will practically demonstrate selected movement activities and games adapted to the given environment and the specific needs of participants.
  • Students will apply group leadership methodology in a natural environment, including organization, communication, and participant motivation.
  • Students will evaluate the effectiveness of selected games and exercises concerning the cognitive, emotional, and social development of participants.
  • Students will develop and present their own movement activity or game for outdoor settings, including methodological procedures and safety measures.
  • Students will reflect on their teaching practice and identify opportunities for improving the methodology and organization of physical education activities in nature.
