The course applies particular biological issues to the area of general as well as particular didactic training. Aims: (1) to develop the ability to create, verify and critically asses methods used in biology education during conducting school experiments, observations and presentations based on analysis of curriculum documents (2) to be able to compose a methodology of effective presentation of particular biological phenomenon.

The course applies particular biological issues to the area of general as well as particular didactic training.
The course is designed to provide students with skills to analyze experiments, observations and presentations in view of their theoretical background and methodology-didactical contexts (in relation to the curriculum documents). Students will grasp the principles of conducting school experiments with all components (scientific, technical and didactic) in balance. They will be able to design laboratory assignments with various roles (practical, research, verifying or providing evidence) and implement these in school practice. The course also represents experimental workshop enabling students to design nontraditional demonstrations and experiments in order to boost illustrative nature of education, students´ motivation, growth of knowledge and practical skills in biology.
Subsidiary outcome of the course is a gradual buildup of electronic portfolio of published and original methodologies of school experiments, observations and demonstrations in biology education.
