The aim of the course is to develop knowledge and skills already gained in other courses concerning translating and interpreting, mainly in the area of technical language (this being a present-day phenomenon). The course consists of a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part deals with the characteristics of technical language and style, its basic properties and differences in comparison to other functional styles. The main topics are as follows: Grammar differences of technical style, terminology as a basic feature of technical vocabulary, technical-popular style. The practical part consists of translating various types of technical styles, partly chosen according to the interests of students, partly chosen according to priorities of present-day society, i. e. juristic style, business German. Texts are translated from German into Czech.

Cílem předmětu je zprostředkovat základní poznatky z oblasti teorie překladu, rozvíjet již dříve získané znalosti a dovednosti získané v překladatelství a tlumočení, aplikovat odbornou terminologii osvojenou v předcházejících lingvistických a literárněvědných předmětech při překládání textů odborného stylu z oblasti germanistiky. Dalším cílem kurzu je seznámení s postupu odborného stylu z jiných oblastí. Obsah kurzu tvoří v přednáškách charakteristika odborného stylu (základní vlastnosti a vymezení vůči ostatním funkčním stylům). Zejména je pojednáváno o těchto tematických okruzích: gramatické zvláštnosti odborného stylu, terminologie jako specifikum slovní zásoby odborného jazyka, styl odborně popularizační. V seminářích je pozornost věnována překladům z oblasti lingvistiky, literární vědy, didaktiky cizích jazyků a doplňkově překladům textů z různých druhů odborného stylu, dílem vybraných dle zájmů účastníků semináře. Překládání probíhá směrem z jazyka německého do jazyka českého.

Ziel der Veranstaltung ist eine Einuebung im praktischen Übersetzen. Die Teilnehmer lesen und uebersetzen tschechische Texte aus verschiedenen Gebieten ( Politik, Wirtschaft, Kultur, Sport usw.)ins Deutsche,erweitern ihre Kenntnisse des jeweiligen Wortschatzes und verschiedener Synonyme und versuchen, typische Fehler in Grammatik und Satzbau zu vermeiden. Der Kurs endet in der letzten Stunde mit einem Uebersetzungstest.
