Analytic approach to the following geometric transformations: Similarities, affine transformations in E2 and A2.
Aim of the course -
Last update: STEHLIKO/PEDF.CUNI.CZ (11.04.2010)

The goal is to introduce the analytic description of geometric transformations in E2 (similarities, affine transformations) and solve problems with transformations using both synthetic and analytic ways. The students are encouraged to discover knowledge through problem solving.

The following notions are studied in an analytic way with references to the synthetic approach:

  • Group of similarities in E2
  • Group of affine transformations in E2 and A2
  • Projective transformations.
