The course will expose students to commonly used technologies in managing small and medium computer networks connected to the public Internet, with a primary focus on traffic routing and overall security. The course does not cover monitoring, automation technologies, or the use of AI. It is assumed that you have previously completed the courses NSWI141 and NTIN060.

Předmět provede studentstvo běžně používanými technologiemi při správě malých a středních počítačových sítí připojených do veřejného Internetu, se zásadním zaměřením na směrování provozu a obecnou bezpečnost. Předmět se nezabývá monitoringem, automatizačními technologiemi ani použitím AI. Předpokládá se předchozí absolvování předmětů NSWI141 a NTIN060.

Course completion requirements

Students obtail class credit for a functional simulation of a complex network according to an assignment drawn by random. Attendance at classes is not required, but it is strongly recommended. Homework assignments are optional.

The exam consists of independent preparation and subsequent discussion of a given topic. Students may make use of arbitrary literature.

Class credit is prerequisite for taking the exam.

Zápočet získá studentstvo po odevzdání funkční simulace komplexní sítě dle vylosovaného zadání. Přítomnost na cvičeních není vyžadována, ale je významně doporučena. Případné domácí úkoly nejsou povinné.

Ke zkoušce může studentstvo využít libovolné literatury. Zkouška sestává ze samostatné přípravy a následné diskuse nad zpracovaným tématem.

Zápočet je podmínkou konání zkoušky.
