Attending this course, the students will understand the basic priciples of UNIX operating system from the point of end user and system administrator. They will be able to know and use the number of useful UNIX tools to make their work more effective.

The lecture is aimed to the overview of administration of operating system UNIX, its basic functionality and overview of basic tools for effective work.

The activities of the system will be explained as from the point of view of system administrator, as from the point of view of end user. The students will be able to utilize tools which UNIX has built-in. No preliminary knowledge is supposed at

the beginning of the term.
