Annotation -
English for specific purposes (ESP) - grammar, vocabulary, style, specialized texts on mathematics. The course is a preparation course for an international examination in English for mathematicians and it is included in the credit system of the Faculty. The credit is a one of the requirements for the examination English for Mathematicians, UNIcert III. Enrollment in this subject is limited. The subject is open for students from the second year of their study.

Course completion requirements -

To meet the requirements it is necessary to participate in class regularly, actively work in the classroom and fulfill all homework assignments. The nature of the subject's examination excludes the repetition of such examination.

Syllabus -

The course develops skills related to understanding mathematical texts, communicating their content and meaning, and discussing their relevance and relationship to other parts of mathematics and your own research. Specific topics are chosen by students according to their interests. The broader thematic focus corresponds to the international Unicert III - English for Mathematicians exam. The course also enhances your vocabulary, phraseology, grammar and pronunciation.
