Equations of geodynamo in Boussinesq and anelastic approximation. Anti-dynamo theorems. Geostrophic and mangetostrophic approximation. Taylor's condition. Nearly symmetric dynamos. MHD waves, Alfvén waves, MAC waves. Torsional oscillations. Convection instabilities and Schwarzschild criteria for onset of convection. Numerical models of geodynamo, solar dynamo, and planetary dynamos.
