Podmínkou pro udělení zápočtu je aktivní účast na polním měření ve spolupráci s GFÚ AV ČR, jehož termín se stanoví po dohodě se studenty. V případě neúčasti lze získat zápočet vypracováním domácího úkolu (s možností vrácení učitelem k opravám a doplnění). Získání zápočtu je podmínkou pro konání zkoušky. Forma zkoušky je ústní, požadavky odpovídají sylabu v rozsahu prezentovaném na přednášce.

Global EM induction

EM induction equation in spherical coordinates, 1-D and 2-D problems, semi-analytical solution for nested-spheres model. Use of satellite data in induction studies. Magnetic signals generated by tides and ocean flows.

Magnetotellurics

Equation of EM induction, TE and TM modes. Electrical conductivity of Earth materials. External fields. Transfer functions: from theory to practical calculations. Distortions of MT data. Forward and inverse modeling. Instrumentation. Applications in prospection.

Electrical conductivity

Conductivity mechanisms, pressure and temperature dependence, conductivity of multiphase materials, experimental measurements.

Field exercises (in cooperation with Institute of Geophysics, Czech Academy of Sciences)

Practical measurements. Instrument installation, data acquisition, processing, and interpretation.
