Annotation
The goal of the journal club is to stay up to date with current developments in condensed matter physics, quantum physics, and quantum information. The journal club is open to students and researchers and aims to provide a basis for fruitful discussions about new results and emerging trends in the broad field of quantum matter, both in theory and experiment.

Course completion requirements

Credit is awarded if at least two of the following conditions are met during the semester:

The student presents a recent paper of their choice.

The student attends more than half of the meetings.

The student actively participates in discussions.

Teaching methods

We will meet weekly in a seminar room. The first 20–25 minutes will be dedicated to a presentation of a paper chosen by a student or researcher.

Due to the broad scope of the seminar, a significant part of the presentation should be devoted to an introduction. The speaker should place the paper in a broader context and explain why it is interesting and relevant.

The next 10–15 minutes will be dedicated to discussion of the presented paper.

The remaining time will be used to highlight and briefly discuss other interesting papers published during the past week.
