Video retrieval is a dynamically evolving area. In the course, new trends in interactive video retrieval are presented, with emphasis on video exploration given a known-item search task.
During the practices, the signature-based video browser (the winning tool of the international video browser showdown) will be presented and extended.
The best new extensions can be selected to compete in the video browser showdown competition.

In the course, new trends in interactive video retrieval are presented, with emphasis on video exploration given a
known-item search task and a set of representative keyframes. During the practices, various video search
methods and tools will be tested. Basic knowledge of python helps (NumPy and Pillow) but the prior knowledge is
not necessary. Students will create a simple tool for a small collection of video data. The best new extensions can
be selected to compete in the video browser showdown competition.
