The aim of the course is to teach students the techniques of dynamic climatology for
the purposes of both research and applications, inclusive the synoptic analysis. The
course covers the basic concepts of the atmospheric circulation (air mass, atmospheric
fronts, cyclones and anticyclones). The substance of the classification of synoptic
situations together with the classification used in Central Europe is introduced. Extensive
emphasis shall be put on the standardization of weather situations that cause appearance
of weather extremes on the territory of the Czech Republic. A special passage is devoted
to the climatology of the atmospheric boundary layer in Central Europe.

Cílem přednášky je naučit posluchače pracovat metodou dynamické klimatologie pro účely
badatelské i pro účely aplikační, včetně aplikace synoptické (prognózní). Přednáška
navazuje na výuku meteorologie a klimatologie pro geografy. Prohlubuje a rozšiřuje
dosavadní výuku, zejména ve smyslu poznání reálných synoptických dějů v oblasti střední
Evropy.
