The aim of the subject is to describe the most used modern approaches to fish study, but also other aquatic vertebrates and invertebrates. In the introduction, the students will be briefly acquainted with the ecology of organisms, which is decisive for the development of populations in running waters.
The second, longer part will be devoted to the description of methods used for study of populations. At the end, we will focus on environmental monitoring methods and statistical evaluation of data. The lecture includes a one-week block practice when will be presented application of methods such as preparation of marking systems, laboratory experiments or field study.
