Main components of hydrological balance are presented and basic and advanced methods of monitoring are dissscused. The componets which are rather deeply analysed are: precipitation, evapotranspiration and runoff. Proportions of different runoff components in overall runoff as the result of geomorphological and climatic conditions are illustrated. Hyrological cycle at regional scale and in individual basin is evaluated as different problem for different time scales. Modeling techniques for simulation of rainfall-runoff process are used as the tools for evaluation of sensitivity of water regime in basin to inputs and land use.

Hydrologie pro hydrogeology je zaměřena na problematiku hydrologické bilance a souvislost povrchových a podzmeních vod. podrobně jsou probírány z hlediska bilance srážky, evapotranspirace a odtok (povrchový a podzemní). Numerické modelování hydrologické blance v regionálním měřítku (srážko-odtokové modely).
