Annotation -

Advanced course in economic geology focused on detailed descriptive and genetic characteristics of Cr, Ni, Cu, Pt- deposits in basic and ultrabasic rocks, granite related deposits (porphyry deposits, greisens, skarns, pegmatites), volcanogenic-hosted massive sulphide deposits, sedimentary-exhalative deposits, epithermal deposits (precious metals and base metals bearing) and mesothermal Au-deposits. These general world-wide models are discussed also with respect to Central-European deposits and Variscan and Alpine metallogeny.

Requirements to the exam - Czech

Zkouška je ústní v rozsahu probraných témat a skládá se z 4-6 otázek (cca 45 minut na referování a 15 minut na přípravu). Jedna otázka je vždy zaměřena na kompletní charakteristiku jednoho z probraných ložiskových typů. Ostatní otázky sledují dílčí témata napříč všemi probranými typy.

Zápočet je za aktivní účast na cvičeních, čímž je myšleno kromě účasti (min. 60%) zejména aktivní podíl na referátech z anglicky psané odborné literatury a to jednak formou individuální powerpointové prezentace, jednak aktivní účastí v diskusi nad daným článkem/tématem. Podrobnější informace budou sděleny v rámci první přednášky/cvičení.

Geochemistry of magmatic and hydrothermal ore-forming processes

Ore deposits (Ni, Cu, Pt-Pd, Cr) associated with basic and ultrabasic rocks.

Granite-related ore deposits (Cu, Au, Mo porphyry deposits, skarns, Sn-W /greisens/).

Volcanogenic-hosted massive sulphide deposits. SEDEX deposits.

Epithermal deposits (Au-Ag, and Ag-Pb-Zn vein type)

Gold deposits (orogenic gold, intrusion-related gold)

Metalogeny of Variscan and Alpine Europe
