Waste management and legislation of EU and Czech Republic, normative tests for waste assessment.
Metallurgical wastes (slag, matte), processing technology, mineralogy and crystal chemistry, natural weathering processes, liberation of heavy metals and other contaminants and their mobility, reuse of slags for civil engineering purposes.
Municipal solid waste incinerator (MSWI) bottom ash, mineralogy and stability of major phases, contaminant liberation, maturation processes, technologies of stabilization, reuse.
Air pollution control (APC) residues, treatment of flue gas, mineralogy and crystal chemistry of fly-ash, dissolution of major mineral compounds, treatment, stabilization/solidification.
Tailings and other mine waste, acid mine drainage (AMD) concept, chemistry of acid mine waters, mobility of heavy metals, remediation techniques.
Municipal waste, collection and valorization, landfills, contamination of groundwater by landfill plumes, heavy metals and organic compounds, attenuation processes in landfill leachate, redox zones, construction of modern landfills, geomembranes, geosynthetic clay liners (GCL).

Kurz nabízí přehled o složení a reaktivitě metalurgických odpadů (strusky a kamínky), důlních odpadů, radioaktivních odpadů a odpadů z dalších průmyslových aktivit (popílky, škváry). Část kurzu je věnována skládkování komunálních odpadů, konstrukcím skládek a procesům probíhajícím na kontaktu inženýrských bariér a odpadu. Budou zmíněny aktuální technologie solidifikace/stabilizace minerálních odpadů.

Odpadová legislativa ČR, normalizované testy pro sledování nebezpečnosti odpadů. Metalurgické odpady (strusky, kamínky), technologie výroby, mineralogie a krystalochemie, přírodní zvětrávací procesy, uvolňování kovů a jejich mobilita. Škváry ze spalování komunálního odpadu a popílky z čištění spalin, stabilita hlavních fází a uvolňování kontaminantů, technologické procesy inertizace. Důlní odpady, chemismus kyselých důlních vod, mobilita kovů. Komunální odpady, sběr, třídění a valorizace, konstrukce skládek, interakce mezi technologickými barierami a výluhy. Jaderné odpady, stabilita analogů sklovitých nosičů, přírodní analogy, koncepce úložiště jaderného odpadu.

Rozsah: celkem 13 dvouhodinových přednášek

Požadavky: písemný zkušební test na závěr kurzu
