English

The aim of this course is to introduce students in the topic of social inequalities in health. The seminars will cover theoretical framework, social determinants of health or links between various risk factors and health outcomes. Time will also be devoted to methods of measuring health inequalities and to policy implications. International literature will be used in this course.

Cílem předmětu je seznámit studenty s tématem sociálních nerovností ve zdraví. Semináře budou zahrnovat teoretický rámec, sociální determinanty zdraví nebo souvislosti mezi různými rizikovými faktory a zdravotními výsledky. Čas bude věnován také metodám měření nerovností v oblasti zdraví a důsledkům v politice. V tomto kurzu bude použita mezinárodní literatura.

Final evaluation: max. 100 points

- 85 points and more = grade 1

- 70 – 84 points = grade 2

- 60 – 69 points = grade 3

- less than 60 points = failed

- Social determinants of health, pathways to social inequalities in health

- Methods of measuring health inequalities I.

- Methods of measuring health inequalities II.
