The course provides a broad-ranging introduction to the various sources of demographic data (civil registration system, population census, population register and sample survey), data collection methods, their advantages and limitation. The explanation is based on compiling and publishing Czech vital statistics and population census. Students are encouraged to work with Czech demographic sources. The course provides information on international systems of publishing of demographic data.The course consists of lectures and practical trainings.
