Annotation -
The lecture and exercises are focused on mastering basic programs that are important for presenting results at department seminars and writing bachelor's and master's theses, including their defense. This course can be recommended to students of various fields of study, both bachelor's and master's. It is a combination of lectures and exercises, even for students who do not have extensive experience working on a PC. Programs for creating and editing images, both vector and bitmap, will be discussed in detail. Depending on the students' interests, we can also focus on applications for constructing graphs and painting chemical structures, or more advanced skills with office applications.

We will focus on freely available programs that can be used on various operating systems - for image processing, these are GIMP and Inkscape.

The exam will be practical, in which students will demonstrate their ability to use the material discussed to solve a given problem.

It is *very* useful to bring your own computer, but you can also work on school PCs.
