Please note, the lectures are given in Czech language. English version of the course can be requested in advance if there are at least 5 students.
To participate in this practical course students are required to complete course PROTEOMICS first. This one-week intensive practical course introduces participants into all aspects of typical proteomic analysis using 2D electrophoresis. In several successive steps participants will perform complete proteomic analysis starting with sample preparation and 2D electrophoretic analysis up to protein identification by mass spectrometry.

  • Buffer and sample preparation. IPG strips rehydration and isoelectric focusing.
  • SDS PAGE, one- and two dimensional separations, gel staining - Coomassie blue, silver salts and fluorescent dyes .
  • Scanning and image analysis of gels a gel sets.
  • Selection and spot-picking, tryptic digestion and peptide extraction
  • Peptide mixture analysis by MS, protein identification. Database searching. Peptide fingerprinting and sequence tags. (MS and MS/MS analysis).
