Seminar focuses on discussion about recent evolutionary studies published in scientific journals. It comprises students’ reports on any papers from selected topics. The purpose of the seminar is to familiarize students with current ecological research and improve their skills in reading and interpretation of scientific text.

Learning outcomes
After completing the course, students will be able to:
Read and interpret primary research papers in evolutionary biology with a critical and analytical approach.
Identify and explain key hypotheses, methods, and conclusions presented in primary research papers.
Evaluate the quality, validity, and broader implications of scientific findings within the context of ecological theory and environmental research.
Present scientific texts clearly and concisely to a professional audience, demonstrating understanding of both content and context.
Engage in informed and constructive discussion, formulate arguments based on evidence, and respond critically yet collegially to peers’ viewpoints.
Reflect on the scientific process, including peer review, research ethics, and the communication of results.
Develop transferable skills in scientific reading, synthesis, and presentation applicable across environmental and biological disciplines.
