Annotation -
Literature and Methodological Review (MB160S86D), which the student submits no later than the end of the second year of the doctoral programme, should have a length of approximately 20–30 pages of text (excluding the list of references, appendices, tables, etc.).
The review is directly focused on the topic of the doctoral dissertation and places primary emphasis on the theoretical foundations, concepts, and methodological approaches on which the dissertation will be based.
In addition to summarising the current state of knowledge in the chosen area, the review must also include a formulation of the main objectives of the dissertation and a description of the corresponding methodology. The selected objectives and applied methods should be clearly and systematically justified with regard to the current state of scientific knowledge and existing literature.
The review should not merely present a formal summary of available findings, but should constitute a critical analysis of the current state of the field, enabling a deeper understanding of the research topic and the appropriate development of the conceptual and methodological framework for the dissertation project.

The primary aims of the literature and methodological review are to:
* present the thematic focus of the dissertation project,
* define the research problem,
* formulate the main objectives of the dissertation,
* discuss suitable methodological approaches and procedures.
The review provides a structured basis for the Theoretical and Methodological Discussion at the doctoral state examination and enables the student to demonstrate the ability to critically analyse literature, compare different methodological approaches, and justify their own research design.
