Annotation -
Please note, some lectures in the winter semester might be given in Czech language.
Presentations of invited speakers in English are shared together with other curricula at the Dept. of Cell Biology and scheduled for summer semester, and students shall discuss the actual problems with the speaker. Please, be ready, read the recommended literature and use this training opportunity seriously.

The attendance is mandatory for all MSc. students. We would welcome Bc. students considering Immunology as their master study as well as PhD. students.

Requirements to the exam -

The requirement for obtaining credit is active participation in seminars, involvement in discussions about diploma projects, and presenting one's own diploma project (for 1st-year students) or presenting progress in the diploma project (for 2nd-year students). Active participation in all seminars is expected; the minimum attendance required to pass the course is 80%

Learning outcomes -

1. Communication and Presentation of the Scientific Project (Create, Apply)

The student will propose (Create) and present (Apply) their future Diploma Thesis project (1st year) or the progress of their ongoing Diploma Thesis (2nd year) before a professional audience. They will be able to create (Create) a clear and structured presentation that effectively summarizes the project's objectives, methodology, and preliminary results.

2. Defense and Critical Reflection of the Project (Evaluate, Analyze)

The student will defend (Evaluate) and support (Evaluate) the methodological and theoretical validity of their Diploma Thesis project and respond to critical questions (Evaluate) from the audience. They will be able to analyze (Analyze) the strengths and weaknesses of their project and identify (Analyze) potential risks and challenges in the subsequent procedure.

3. Critical Discussion and Feedback (Evaluate, Apply)

The student will actively participate (Apply) in discussions about their colleagues' projects, where they assess (Evaluate) and evaluate (Evaluate) their presentations in terms of scientific relevance and feasibility. They will propose (Create) constructive feedback and lead (Apply) a professional discussion concerning projects from various areas of immunology.

4. Project Progress and Planning (Create, Apply)

The 2nd-year student will present the progress (Apply) in their Diploma Thesis, including the results achieved so far, and modify (Create) or organize (Create) the remaining work plan based on the feedback received. They will demonstrate (Apply) the ability for effective time management and project planning.
