Lecture: Regeneration capacity of plants, totipotency of plant cell, organ tissue and cell cultures under in vitro, organogenesis, somatic embryogenesis, somaclonal variation, cultivation conditions; plant tissue cultures as a tool for theoretical and practical purposes - micropropagation, production of pathogen free plants, artificial seeds, production of secondary metabolites, biotransformation; plant breeding - protoplast cultures, foreign gene introduction, Agrobacterium system; biotechnology and environment
Laboratory course: Plant multiplication under in vitro, cultivation of organ, tissue and cell cultures, controlled organogenesis on tobaco segments, organogenesis of transgenic plants, somatic embryogenesis in carrot, potato microtuber induction, isolation and cultivation of meristems and zygotic embryos, in vitro cultivation of the plant acording to student's choice.

History of plant tissue culture techniques
Regeneration capacity of plants, totipotency of plant cell - potentials and restrictions
Morphogenesis, organogenesis, somatic embryogenesis, pollen embryogenesis, somaclonal variation;
Types of cultures - organ, callus, cell and protoplast cultures
Cultivation conditions - temperature, light, humidity, cultivation media, aseptic cultivation; choice of mother plants, type of explant
Plant tissue culture technique as a tool for plant physiology studies and for practical purposes;
Plant micropropagation, production of pathogen-free plants; artificial seeds;
Tissue and cell cultures, production of secondary metabolites, bio-transformation;
Plant breeding - use of somaclonal variation and screening possibilities of cell cultures;
Protoplast cultures, fusion of protoplast, subprotoplasts, transfer of organelles;
