The lectures are given in Czech language. Study literature and tutorials can be given in English. English version of the course can be requested for at least 3 foreign students.

What we know about the actual geographical distribution of plants? What are the factors and rules influencing this distribution? What is the relation of the Central Europe flora to the rest of the Europe? What the phytogeography can say about the history of the Earth and what can say about the evolution of the plants? What is the contribution of phytogeography to the knowledge of distribution of biodiversity and to her conservation? Those are the basic questions and themes of the presented course.

Fytogoegrafie je syntézou mnoha jiných oborů. Tok přednášky je volen tak, aby se student nejprve seznámil se (1) status quo neboli popisnou fytogeografie – stav rozšíření rostlin a vegetace na Zemi dnes; (2) jak se měnilo rozšíření rostlin na zemi v minulosti a hlavní faktory, které ho ovlivňovaly: klimatologie; tektonika, pohyby kontinentů; s tím související vznik rostlinných skupin a jejich vymírání (v podstatě historická paleobotanika); (3) modernější metodologie: panbiogeografie, ostrovní biogeografie, fylogeografie.

Součástí přednášky je i návštěva botanické zahrady v Praze - Tróji a jednodenní terénni exkurze (Český kras nebo České stredohoří).

Zkouška probíhá testem.

Materiály: prezentace a jiné studijní materiály jsou studnetům poskytnuty přes SIS, případně jsou zaslány e-mailem.
