The course of Ecclesiology approaches the mystery of the church from the perspective of the systematic theology aspiring to connect it with the whole of the Christian faith.
The course is divided into the two main parts: The first part explores biblical sources and contents of the Tradition from the beginning to the modern era. The second part proposes a theological synthesis of the certain topics (definition and personality of the church) and provides an interpretation of the four marks of the church defined by the Creed (unity, holiness, catholicity and apostolicity).

Kurz ekleziologie nabízí přístup k tajemství církve z hlediska systematické teologie se zřetelem na propojení s celkem obsahu křesťanské víry. Kurz je rozdělen na dvě hlavní části. První část zkoumá biblické zdroje a nauku Tradice od počátku až do moderní doby. Druhá část nabízí teologickou syntézu témat definice a personality církve a předkládá výklad čtyřech známek církve, jak je obsahuje Krédo, totiž jedinost, svatost, katolicitu a apoštolskost církve.

Aim of the course -
Learning Outcomes According to the Revised Bloom’s Taxonomy
Remember The student lists and defines the basic concepts of ecclesiology, biblical images of the Church, the concept of the Church as mystery, its basic definitions, and the four marks of the Church.
Understand The student explains the place of ecclesiology within dogmatic theology, clarifies the significance of the biblical images of the Church and the Kingdom of God, and characterizes the Church as the Body of Christ, the Temple of the Spirit, and the People of God.
Apply The student applies basic ecclesiological concepts in interpreting specific biblical, traditional, and systematic-theological themes and shows how the individual images and definitions of the Church relate to its life and mission.
Analyze The student distinguishes and compares different models and images of the Church, analyzes the relationship between biblical sources, Tradition, and systematic synthesis, and examines the concepts of the definition and personality of the Church.
Evaluate The student assesses the theological adequacy of different ways of defining the Church and evaluates the significance of unity, holiness, catholicity, apostolicity, and indefectibility for understanding the identity of the Church.
Create The student synthesizes biblical, traditional, and systematic-theological knowledge into a coherent understanding of the Church and independently formulates a theologically coherent account of its identity, personality, marks, and place within the whole of the Christian faith.

Course assessment methods and requirements for successful completion, grading scheme -
In order to take the exam, you must enroll in the relevant Moodle course no later than 14 days after the start of the lectures.
An oral exam. Every student chooses and presents one of the topics. Afterwards, he answers few additional questions covering the rest of the studied treatise.
