Annotation -

In this subject students are introduced into the Catechesis of the Church (its identity including theological basics, principles, surporse and aim). The students are informated about the forms of Catechetical activities suited for the various circumstates and about the metodology of the catechetical work respecting the age of the participants of the catechesis.

At the end of the course students should be able to understand the place of catechesis in pastoral care and to distinguish it from other forms of ministry.

Syllabus -

1. Identity of catechesis according to current documents of the Magisterium of the Church.

2. Basic tasks of catechesis within the process of evangelization.

3. Catechesis as a service to God's Word.

4. Catechesis as the education of Christian faith towards maturity.

5. Catechesis and other forms of Ministery of the Word: differences and complementarity.
