The aim of the course is to provide students for whom English is not their first language with basic skills in reading and interpreting English literature. Through reading classic works by British and American authors, they will gain greater confidence in working with original literary texts and deepen their passive and active knowledge of the English language.

Through guided instruction, students will learn to navigate complex texts, identify key themes, and analyse various literary devices. Close reading exercises and discussions will enhance their comprehension and interpretation skills, improve their mastery of the English language, and foster critical thinking. The aim of the seminar is to help students read literature in English and discuss it in English. In order to obtain the credit, regular attendance, oral presentation (10 minutes), participation in discussions and willingness to start reading or ability to read in English are necessary.
