Předmět Latinská četba k historii je koncipován jako dvousemestrová příprava ke zkoušce KJAZ176. Předpokládá se vstupní úroveň odpovídající úspěšně absolvovaným kurzům morfologie a syntaxe Latinský jazyk 1-4 (KJAZ105-108) ve variantě pro historiky (H), tj. podle učebnice J. Zachové Latina pro historiky a archiváře. Od četby delších ukázek v této učebnici se přechází k dalším textům historického zaměření, v letním semestru i k textům, které si podle svých zájmů a potřeb vyberou sami frekventanti.
