The series of classes consume two semesters and will be focused on the analysis and interpretation of selected baroque monuments of the 17 th and 18 th centuries in Europe. The attention will be paid to the important monuments in Italy and in the Central Europe in the winter semester and on the monuments located in the former Lands of the Bohemian Crown in the summer semester. The works of art which were exceptionally popular and served as important examples for other artists will be primarily discussed. Churches of monastic orders, the patronage of popes, priests and laics will be also examined.
