The course introduces the issue of the Torah or the Pentateuch (the five books of Moses).
The general part discusses basic questions of the literary history of this ensemble, ie its gradual formation and the corresponding shifts in style and in theological thinking from the stage of oral traditions to the final editorial. Then follows the introduction into literary species (narrative, legislation) according to individual books (Gn, Ex, Lv, Nm, Dt) accompanied by brief exegesis of characteristic texts.
