After completing the course, students shall be able, in a wider sense, to analytically delineate the field of Strategic Studies among the terrain of knowledge and, specifically, to understand the nature of strategic thinking in theory and practice. The central concept of “strategy” and some core supporting concepts – including nuclear/conventional deterrence and compellence, missile defence and strategic culture – as well as multiple related aspects/dimensions, including the role of technology, will be theoretically introduced and empirically analysed, as applied to real-world events/cases.
