Teaching methods

The course consists of 6 seminars. Attendance of the bi-weekly (every other week) class is obligatory. Each class starts with brief introduction to the discussion on selected issue. Students are expected to have read and familiarized themselves with all the readings to individual seminars and prepare the answers to given questions (send the answers by e-mail day before seminar, i.e. Monday 12:00, and bring the printed version to the class).

Each student is expected once during the semester to prepare a set of additional questions or comments, to send them on Monday by 12:00 to plech.kursy@volny.cz and to be prepared to moderate the discussion in the class for app. 10 minutes on a particular topic.

The list of the topics follows (may be edited after the start of the semester depending on number of students enrolled). Continuous work through the whole semester is required.
